Wow, I am a terrible blogger now. Anyway here is a much
needed Shelton update…
(It’s gonna be LONG!)
Mr. Logan aka The Loaf (that’s what we like to call him
these days) is 7 months old already!! I cannot believe how fast he is growing
and changing. Currently he weighs over 18 lbs and is a little over 28 inches
tall. His and Noah’s measurements have been almost identical at their 2, 4 and
6 month checkups. Yet at the same time…they are so different.
Some of the things we love about Logan…
* he is an awesome
eater! He has loved every solid we have given him so far…especially warm sweet
potatoes. He wants everything we eat. Steve gave him a taste of rootbeer and he
didn’t even flinch at the carbonation…dads are stinkers
* he’s a good sleeper (he’s had a little trouble lately with a rumbling
tummy which I think is due to getting used to digesting solids)
* he LOVES his big brother! He is all smiles
and laughs when we pick Noah up from preschool. They do a lot of laughing
together already and I love it. You can tell that he wants to be able to get up
and run SO badly so that he can do whatever Noah is doing…it is adorable.
* he has been rolling
both ways for almost 3 months already and can roll/scoot/army crawl/ lunge
himself all over the place…if he wants something across the room, he’ll get it.
He is extremely close to crawling for real
* he LOVES splashing
in bath water…maybe we’ll have to put him in swimming lessons soon
* his hair dries in
the cutest way ever! This little grouping near the back of his head dries
standing up (see pics below) Steve calls him our little cherry bomb
* he has the most
kissable chubby cheeks (his mom, dad and big brother think so)
* he’s a mama’s boy
like crazy! When he’s extra happy to see me, he grabs my face, pulls me in and
smothers my cheeks, lips and neck with slobbery kisses…what’s a mama to do
other than melt!
* he’s such a happy
guy most of the time and his smile lights up a whole room
* he has amazingly
long eyelashes
* he got his first 2
teeth 2 weeks ago within less than a week of each other
Logan is such a great baby and has truly added to our joy!!
he always does these awesome push-ups
dad sharing some brisket...how nice
TEETH!!
Mr. Noah… Well he’s 4 ½ now. Last week he graduated from his first year of preschool, which he has LOVED! This kid cracks us up! He is so much fun and such a big boy now. He loves Logan to pieces…such a great blessing!
Some of the things we love about Noah (and things he loves too)…
* the way he uses “grown up” words all the time …he uses them correctly too
* he is such a wonderful big brother! He helps mommy a lot and is so sweet and loving to Logan
* he’s the skinniest kid I know! He’s 44 inches tall and weighs about 40 lbs
* he is positive that the saying “cracks me up” is actually “cracks me out” and says it all the time
* he loves to make up jokes and does it a lot! Once in a while they actually make sense, but not too often…he loves to make people laugh!
* he’s such a handsome little man who also has a great smile and mile long eyelashes
* he is such a smart guy and getting more smart by the day. He has loved preschool and also does a website that is helping him learn to read. He is doing great at it!
* I got an awesome drawing of Optimus Prime on my Mother’s Day card (he LOVES transformers. We’re not sure where the love started because we sure as heck have not let him watch the latest Transformer movies…all of the sudden he knew who they were and all sorts of stuff about them, crazy kid)
Also here are a few of his latest lines that have made us laugh…
* On the way to the beach while we were in San Francisco “Ok mom and dad, when we get to the ocean we need to be careful and watch out for sharks. They’re pretty tough on humans”
* One day he stubbed his big toe and when he was telling me about it he called it his “foot’s thumb”
* Here’s one of his made up jokes:
Noah: Why did the horse cross the road?
Me: I don't know, why?
Noah: To eat the rabbits on the other side.
Me: Eww. Horses don't eat rabbits.Noah: Well they do when the rabbit's skeletons are made out of hay.
Me: I don't know, why?
Noah: To eat the rabbits on the other side.
Me: Eww. Horses don't eat rabbits.Noah: Well they do when the rabbit's skeletons are made out of hay.
usually he runs up my parents huge slide with NO hands! It freaks me out!
flexing his strong muscles
sporting one of Grandma Sorensen's wigs
Preschool graduation with his teacher Miss Jamie
We love our boys so much! They bring us lots of happiness! (and plenty of frustration too…just keeping it real ha ha)
Steve and I are doing well also. Some know, some maybe don’t but we’ve been trying to buy a house for over a year. We have had pretty much the worst luck/time buying than anyone on the planet. So we are trying to take it as maybe my parents need our help just a little bit longer. Hopefully we’ll have house news to share soon!
And to end, here are some of the pics from our recent trip to California for the blessing of our cute nephew Ethan.
